For lures i like 2 use tube jigs[1/32 and smaller head size] combined with or without spike maggots. For colors i have had good luck with red and white,purple and white,and black and chartreuse. I also use small hair jigs in pink,char.,and orange because of the stained water. Sunnnies and perch will bite on almost any bait that is alive like pieces of worms and minnows 4 perch. I like using a weight forward bobber and or a pencil bobber.

I usually fish no deeper than 4 feet because the calicos are usually suspended and holding 2 cover. For northern pike most eve! ryone uses shiners and bobbers or stickbaits. You are just about anytime guaranteed 2 find some action. For the pike i look for weeds and channels ,dropoffs and points. Action can be fast and furious. Black Lake is a fish factory but remember 2 only keep what you can eat and try 2 release all the predatory fish. Yes it is a big lake but over fishing will hurt it .
